Michigan Stadium
Nicknamed ‘The Big House’, university owned Michigan Stadium is the largest stadium in the US and second largest in the world. Therefore, it’s no surprise that the 100,000 seats are regularly filled. If you’re into football, you should check out a game. It’s a great day out for all the family, and a good activity to enjoy in October, before it gets too cold.
Matthaei Botanical Gardens
If you enjoy wrapping up when the temperature drops and being in the outdoors, the beautiful botanical gardens are just for you. With woods, a selection of plantation as well as a conservatory and gift shop, you could spend hours whiling away the hours here.
Michigan Theatre
If you don’t fancy being outdoors and exposed to the elements in October, you could catch a show or a concert at the Michigan Theatre. The theatre also sometimes screens old films, so if you’re into the likes of Marlon Brando and Gregory Peck, get yourself down there.
Main Street
If you like to shop, head down to Main Street where you’ll find a selection of shops, cafes and restaurants. Why not sit outside and warm yourself up with a coffee while people watching? There’s lots going on, and it’s a busy street, so you’ll always see something interesting.
